A TROLL IN TIME — ATROLLCITY STORY ARC
CHAPTER 2: EARTH’S WEAKEST LINK
“You have to march on faster! We do not have enough pineapples to allow you to sit on your ass in a transport vehicle General Huo” exclaimed Quan.
Huo has always been the weakest, but his intellect surpasses his peers, his parents being half-elf meant that he really didn’t have the build like Quan or Tu. In fact, if it wasn’t for him saving Quan during the troll strategy and intelligence exams he wouldn’t be in the military at all! Quick to learn Huo had a photographic memory and an intellect to put two and two together.
“Enemy ahead generals!” Shouted a gravedigger! Shouts and loud explosions were heard ahead. “Fracking hell! We walked into a minefield in the middle of a desert…” that was the last that Huo ever heard coming from Quan after the envoy was destroyed. In a daze, all Huo heard next was a familiar voice, a trusted voice; Quan commanded. “Leave him behind! He is of no use to any of us in this state!” The earth then started to rumble it seemed the mine had broken a structure underground right underneath Huo. The sand started breaking in and for a moment it was all dark…
Moments turned to what seemed like days; Huo woke up to the pain of his injuries in the middle of a dark underground cave. While still in a daze, Huo tried to refocus on a tiny speck of light and felt around him to see what he could find. “A pineapple on a stick? What’s this and how did that appear?” Huo’s inquisitive mind went into overdrive, what chances are there that his life’s work from finding energy cores and powering entire cities with pineapples, that someday his chanced existence would depend on one, single pineapple. “I believe it’s not the end; I will eat half of this and light the other to find my way out of the cave” determined, Huo rose up, and shortly after he created his pineapple torch and continued exploring the cold dark cave….
Huo’s elven senses soon peaked, he could soon hear the drops of water falling into an underground pond of water. Excited he stumbled in the direction of the sound, reaching the pond, he set the torch at the corner of the wall and stared into the water… looking at the full extent of his injuries he slowly drank the water and cleaned off the dirt on his face, it was soon clear to Huo that his eyelids were burnt beyond despair… “Should I even live on?” Just as he started questioning his mortality, he noticed that areas on walls where the flame touched were glowing red! “Wait what could this be? Ancient incantations? Let me see…” Huo started to read out the ancient elvish incantations as he waived the torch across the dark walls of the cave… “Nalso… Verdis… Avadis deo!”
What will become of our hero Huo the Shades? When will people learn not to read incantations on walls? Stay tuned for more atrocities at “ATrollCity” and play our game to decide their fate.
